There Is No Substitute for Experience.

Back to Blog

A couple months ago a good friend of mine handed me a book she wrote.  My first reaction that came to mind was “I’m not really interested in diving into a book right now”.  And, really – at that specific moment in life I really struggled to relax for an hour at some point in a day to read a book.

“How to Make People Listen (without being pushy” is the name.  The name intrigued me.

After three or four weeks of this book being in my way – I swear my subconscious purposely placed it where I would have to look at it every day as I sat in my desk – eventually I caught the word “Tips” on the cover.

So, during a print job I opened it up to page 55.  One page – One Tip.  I like this…it’s quick.  “Every Conversation Counts” was the heading.

The key point I scooped here was “The Power to Create Change is Alive in Every Conversation”.

True.  So True.

Being this book is simply a book of tips, takes mere seconds to read a page or two.  It has become my source of entertainment between print jobs.  Usually quick – so it’s perfect timing.  I simply flip to a page – read it.  Sometimes even landing on the same page, so I read it again.

You're probably asking yourself – “Why is this guy writing about this?”.  I’m asking myself that right now actually.  It is on my mind – that is why.  Jean is having her official book launch this Tuesday and of course I am going to attend to show her support.

Well – let’s move this forward and say this is my review and a plug for the book.
How to Make People Listen (without being pushy) by Jean Hudson

Ease of Reading – Definitely.
Useful information – Definitely.
Perfect for my wandering mind – Most Definitely.
Would I recommend it – Again – Most Definitely.

There you have it.  So, because I said so, you should buy this book too.

Well heck, come to the book launch and she’ll sign it for you ;)
