Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer - 2 weeks away!
Last November I decided to take the challenge and raise money for Cancer Research through the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer.
What a challenge it has been! The cause is amazing - the funds are going to a great organization that is truly making a difference in many lives.
Riding approximately 215km's over two days will certainly be a challenge! At first - was thinking "what have you got yourself into?" I've never ridden a bike over 30km's before!!!
After several months training - in May alone I logged just over 570KM !!! Have done a few 100KM+ rides and doing 30KM is a breeze now! My favourite ride to date is the Bow Valley Parkway between Banff and Lake Louise. Have you ever done that??? Amazing!!! Slow traffic, wildlife and scenery is amazing!
I'm definitely prepared! Now to actually do it!
So many people are touched by Cancer. My Aunt who is like my second mother would not be alive today if it were not for research like this being funded by huge events as the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer. My ride is for you Deb!!!
This ride has done so much for me! Aside from raising more money than I ever have - $1250 through online donations and $500 by raffling an iPad - still need more!!! I've found a new passion for cycling, have grown closer to many friends and created new friendships that I can see lasting a lifetime.
I would greatly appreciate your generous support! Do so today by following this link!
Definitely doing it again next year...well!!!
