Calgary Real Estate Board December 2008 Statistics

Well, December proved to be a slow month for single family homes with only 449 reported sold - down 47% from December 2007's reported sales.  Our month end inventories dropped significantely as well with quite a number of homes expiring off the market.

Expect a strong increase of inventory levels at the end of January as many homes will be re-listed - you can also expect to see the number of sales in January to exceed December, more than double I will predict as we see single family starter homes continue to dominate the selling market.
